Daylily After Rain

Today's Joy: Going Home & Putting Up My Feet.
What a crazy couple weeks, Reader! As you can see by my woefully sporadic blog entries (I apologize and will post the missing entries as soon as all my photos are uploaded), these last two weeks have been a whirl wind of work and art show chaos! All great stuff, but I haven't had a day off since July 25th! So, tonight I am going home to put on my jammies, prop my feet up and watch mindless television for a few hours before hitting the sack early.

After all, have estate auctioning, more work, church activities and house-cleaning on the agenda for Saturday & Sunday. Ah, yes. Another restful weekend. Thank You, Lord, for keeping my activity calendar full. Amen.

Today's Joy: Getting Stuff Done.
Had the day off today, Reader. Sometimes there's nothing nicer than taking your time and getting things done as you please, with no one telling you to hurry up or that you have to be somewhere in 15 minutes. Ahhhh.

Aunt and I did a little shopping in the afternoon. When we got home, I realized there was no room for all the new goodies we bought. So, I decided to do a little impromptu pantry re-organization. Next thing you knew, everything was clean and neat and there was tons of space! I even labeled it all so next time Aunt Chef is over and rummaging for something savory, she can find it toot-sweet. Ta-da!

Funny, how cleaning leads to a warm & fuzzy feeling. Add to that the day-off warm & fuzzies and it's practically impossible to walk around without a big, dumb grin on your face. Well, that's my excuse at least. ;-) Have a wonderful day, Reader.

Today's Joy: Spring Cleaning.
Whew! I've been at it since early this afternoon but--at last--the upstairs of our lovely abode is clean! Reader, I am pooped! I scrubbed the bathroom top to bottom, wiped down the vents, polished all of Great Aunt's antique bedroom furniture (even the headboard!), vacuumed, dusted, reorganized, fluffed the featherbed, washed the linens and packed up the last of the winter clothing.

Have to admit, it feels really good to have everything ready for summer. Now, I'm off to bed. Gonna sleep like a log!

Dear Reader, Today's Joy comes to you from the waiting room of our local Urgent Care center.
While I was away last week, Himself re-affirmed his "Man of the Year" status by cleaning every inch of our home. He even bought Easy-Off and scrubbed the oven! Unfortunately, his gallantry resulted in several chemical burns that are now red, puffy & infected. Chemical burns are not a joy for anybody. But I would like to take a moment (while Himself fills out a huge stack of insurance forms) to thank all of the dedicated partners everywhere, who risk life and limb and unprotected forearms--all in the name of doing something thoughtful for the one they love. Three cheers for the Practical Lover! And yes, Honey, chicks dig scars.
